The Digital Commerce Fintech Awards helps growing fintech startups elevate their business, make connections and scale their operations. The Award sets the stage for extraordinary entrepreneurs and innovations that will reshape the fintech landscape across Canada.

Over several weeks, startup founders participate in workshops, receive coaching and mentorship and build connections to investors and industry experts to drive some serious growth for their businesses. They have the opportunity to tell their story and increase their brand visibility. To sweeten the deal (you could call it the cherry on top), they have a chance to compete for one of three prizes totaling $300,000+.

The Digital Commerce Calgary Fintech Award is for fintech startups that meet the following criteria:
- Is a private corporation
- Is seed stage (pre-Series A)
- Has a minimum viable product with market traction
- Can provide evidence of the ability to hire and grow
- Has founders with domain expertise and an established, growing team
- Has revenue or a clear forecast to it
- Registered federally or provincially in Canada
- Is a fintech company

Fintech companies incorporate technologies that automate, enhance and optimize how we transact and exchange value.
This could include, but is not limited to: Blockchain, Crypto, Capital markets, Digital IDs, Embedded Finance, Insurance, Lending, Money transfers/remittances, Mortgage/real estate, Payments/billing, Personal finance, Proptech, Regtech, Wealth management, Green finance/carbon trading, Open banking, etc.
Yes! Startups who have previously applied or participated in the Digital Commerce Calgary Fintech Award are able to apply and participate again. Startups that have won an award in the past are not eligible to win the award again.
Yes! The top 3 startups take home all of their winnings. There is no equity stake or ties with the cash.
One startup cannot win more than one prize.
